Create move-out

For a lease, you usually first create a move-in inspection (at the start of the lease) and later a move-out inspection (at the end of the lease). In ImmoHabits you create a move-out directly from the existing move-in.

Automatic comparison with the move-in

This is the most important added value of a move-out in ImmoHabits: the AI model doesn't produce a separate, new description, but compares the move-out condition with the move-in condition.

When generating the move-out report, the AI model receives the full move-in inspection report. It analyzes your new photos and places them next to the initial condition. For each element in the report, this produces:

  • Difference from check-in: what has changed compared to the initial condition.
  • Damage status: whether there is new damage, or whether an element has remained unchanged since the move-in.

This way you immediately see, in a single report, what has changed during the rental period, without having to lay the move-in and move-out side by side yourself.

Requirement: a move-in report first

You can only create a move-out after at least one report has been generated for the move-in. As long as that is not the case, the option stays disabled.

So generate the move-in report first. After that, the option to create the move-out appears. It is precisely that move-in report against which the move-out is compared.

Creating a move-out

  1. Open the move-in property.
  2. At the top you see the tabs Move-in and Move-out. Click the Move-out tab (with the sign).
  3. A Move-out inspection window opens. Click Create move-out.

What is carried over?

When creating the move-out, a copy is automatically made of the settings, parameters and rooms of the move-in inspection. This way you don't have to rebuild the structure — and just as important: the move-out rooms then exactly match the move-in rooms, which makes the comparison possible.

The photos are not copied. After all, for a move-out you take new photos of the property's current condition. The room structure is already in place; you only need to take photos.

Taking photos for the move-out

Because the comparison happens per room, the way you take photos co-determines the quality of the result.

Crucial: place your move-out photos in the same rooms as during the move-in. The room structure of the move-in is carried over automatically, so the right rooms are already there. The AI model compares each room with the corresponding room from the move-in — photos in a wrong or newly created room cannot be compared correctly.
For the best result, take the photos from roughly the same viewpoint and angle as during the move-in. This is not required — the AI model also recognizes elements from a different angle — but similar images make the comparison more accurate.

Switching between move-in and move-out

After creating it, you can always switch between the Move-in and the Move-out of the same property via the tabs at the top. Both remain available separately with their own photos and reports.

Next step

Once you've added photos, you can create the move-out report via Generate report. Continue in this guide with Set a main photo.
