Add photos
Photos form the basis of every report. You always add them within a room. The way this works differs greatly between the browser and the mobile app, which is why both are described separately below.
In the browser
In the browser you upload existing photos. There are two ways, each with their own advantages.
Via the property detail page (fastest)
On the property detail page you see blocks with all rooms. You drag photos directly into these room blocks. This is by far the fastest way, because you can:
- drag photos into several rooms at once;
- not have to wait until a room is fully uploaded;
- continue working immediately while uploads are running.
At the bottom right of the screen you see the upload progress per room. Especially for larger properties this is the fastest way to work.
Via the room detail page
Open a room. At the top there is a large upload area where you can drag photos or click to select them. You can also use the button at the bottom right.
With this method you wait per room until the photos are uploaded before continuing. This is the recommended way when you work with surface grouping, because you then upload per surface.
In the mobile app
In the app you always work from the room detail page. You open a room and then choose whether you:
- take photos with the camera, or
- upload existing photos from your gallery.
So you don't have to upload anything separately per room like in the browser: you simply take photos and they go straight into the right room. Taking photos with the camera is a typical strength of the app.
Surface grouping: work per surface or not?
With surface grouping you link each photo to a surface (floor, ceiling, walls). This is optional and you set it on the property (see Create property). The choice affects both your workflow and the report, and is largely a personal preference.
Without grouping
You simply add all photos of a room; the AI model decides itself what belongs to which wall, floor or ceiling.
- Browser: the fastest method — drag photos from the property page straight into the room blocks and do several rooms in parallel.
- App: just take your photos per room, without further choices.
With grouping
Each photo is explicitly linked to a surface. In the report it is therefore clearer which images belong to which wall, floor or ceiling.
- Browser: you upload per room and per surface. The room detail page is split into tabs (Floor, Ceiling, Wall 1–5, Other). Accurate, but uploading and sorting per surface makes it noticeably slower.
- App: much smoother. In the camera view, the surfaces appear as buttons (Floor, Ceiling, Wall 1, …). Tap a surface and take your photos there; switch buttons to continue in another surface.
Which to choose?
It comes down to a trade-off:
- With grouping: the report can be slightly clearer. In the app this only takes a bit more work; in the browser it usually takes quite a bit longer due to the uploads and sorting per surface.
- Without grouping: faster and simpler, with a report that, thanks to the automatic analysis, is usually just as correct.
Supported file formats
When uploading files (in the browser or from your gallery), the following formats are supported:
- JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg)
- PNG (.png)
- WEBP (.webp)
- GIF (.gif)
- HEIC / HEIF
The resolution and file size are not critical. Photos are automatically optimized for the best balance between quality and file size.
Number of photos
The number of photos per room or property is unlimited.
